New trawler contract
Fishing company Cetus AS from Vea, Norway, has ordered a new trawler based on design from Norwegian ship designers Salt Ship Design AS. The new fishing vessel will be built at Fitjar Mek. Verksted AS in Fitjar, Norway.
The owners have been working closely with the designers at Salt to develop an effective, modern and environmentally friendly vessel, and after the design phase and yard negotiations, the shipbuilding contract was effective on May 24th.
The 65 m fishing vessel has a beam of 14 meters, and will be delivered from the shipyard in February 2019. Much of the ship equipment has yet to be decided, but the plan is to decide on main components during the Nor-Shipping exhibition in Oslo next week.
The hull will arrive Fitjar Mek. Verksted in August 2018, and the new Cetus will be delivered from the shipyard in February 2019.
