AIDA Cruises oppgraderer "AIDAdiva", "AIDAbella" og "AIDAluna"

Mhmmm - it is absolute normal that all serious big hotel-chains renovate their hotels complete all ca. 15 - 20 years.
So from this side it is full ok - these ships are from 2007 - 2009, so still young enough for a big renovation and upgrade now.

But on the other side - the newbuildings of today are MUCH MUCH bigger than these small AIDA ships with a Pax-capacity of 2000 only.
Between ca. 6000 and ca. 8000 Pax is from this decade "BIG", between ca. 3000 and ca. 5600 is "MIDSIZE" and all under 2800 Pax are today "SMALLER" cruise-ships. And all under 700-800 are in the "MINI" class as Explorer- / Expeditions-ships or super luxury extremly ships for a small number of rich people. Alone the "BIG" will be incl. orders ca. 35 ships until 2028. Most ships under construction / under order are in the "BIG" group and NO NEW SHIP is actually under construction or planned with less than ca. 3800 Pax. capacity (but a few Mini-Explorer-ships).
So just this AIDA-size is between 800 and 3800 is a kind of "Auslaufmodell" in the cruise-ship-business . To big for to be luxury and exclusive - but to small for to offer cheapest mass-prices and so much attractions as the big ships onboard.

So they invest now really of lot of money in 3 smaller cruise-ships - which are offering MUCH LESS onboard than all the midsize and bigger cruise-ships with biggest entertainment-areas and show-stages and big entertainment and (water-)leisure-parks onboard.
And furthermore the point with costs and ticket-prices, the rule is, so bigger the ship so lower (can be) the ticket-price. What means in fact that AIDA must find in the next ca. 10, 12 years always 2000 Pax per ship who want pay significant more money then for 6000 Pax-ships and getting much less offered onboard. Maybe for people who was already onboard on a 365m x 66m "Gigant" these Aida-ships could feel narrow and crowded also.
