The superstructure looks like it is made of steel rather than aluminium which is normally used for yacht superstructures. Can anyone confirm if it is steel indeed?
Yes
And according to a RUMOR, this is the reason that they have a stability-issue now. my source said that it is about 200ton top heavy, and the solution might be that they lengthen it by ~20m and add weight to the keel.
if that is the case, it will be 200+m when finished.

Hi Aleksander, thanks for that. I had lately been hearing that there were more problems with REV, but I didn't know which problems exactly. This doesn't surprise me. There is a good reason why all the big steel yachts have aluminium superstructures: Weight saving (and it is easier to do complex shapes in aluminium, I believe).

nope absolutely not! shaping aluminum is very difficult

Thanks Locarno, wasn't sure about that. I know welding aluminium is indeed a complex and specialist task.

I looks like they will change to aluminium superstructures to solve the weight issue
