Triumph FDV ST-269

Triumph’s new-build Field Development Vessels (FDVs) have been designed to meet and exceed the emerging green and blue economy requirements. The requirement to meet these obligations and to improve the carbon footprint of the offshore, marine and renewables industries is paramount in the considerations of the vessels design and in Triumph’s operations as an organisation. The parameters for the Skipsteknisk designed FDVs was to design and build vessels that are truly multi-purpose for nearly all subsea construction tasks that can be encountered within the offshore oil / gas, subsea telecoms, decommissioning and renewables markets. Further to the standard equipment fitted to the vessels they are multi role and adaptable wherein modular pipe-lay systems for both shallow and deep water can be installed in either S Lay or J Lay configurations.

The vessels have been designed to conform to the highest levels of class notation in regard to Clean Design, Environmental Design and SPS Code, where a focus is placed on low fuel consumption, reduced exhaust emissions, environmental protection systems and safety. The vessels are diesel electric with hybrid battery systems and advanced energy recovery systems that greatly enhance the fuel consumption figures for the vessels and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Enhanced crew safety feature include the MARSS MOBtronic automated man overboard detection / tracking system and MARRS NiDAR autonomous threat detection, surveillance and anti-piracy countermeasures system.

Cranes and VLS are operated via 3 on-board remote operations rooms and also have the capability of “over the horizon” remote operations. Cranes have below deck electric winches fitted with 4000m + of fibre rope and the fibre rope is full load capable to full depth, the only limitation is the amount of rope fitted.

New Build FDV ST-269 Letter of Intent

Triumph Subsea Services is pleased to announce that it has issued a Letter of Intent to Brodosplit JSC, Croatia, for two firm and two optional ST designed 200m x 35m FDVs. The DIV Shipbuilding Group owned Brodosplit facility in Split, Croatia will build the hulls and then the company’s newly acquired Kleven Verft shipyard in Ulsteinvik, Norway will complete the outfitting. Expected steel cutting of the first hull is March/April of 2021 with the cutting of steel for the second hull being approximately four to six months later. Estimated build time from steel cutting is 30-34 months. Due to upcoming requirements within the floating windfarm sector, one of the initial builds is going to undergo some equipment reconfiguration such as VLS tower removal, addition of trenchers and plough for turnkey floating wind farm installations.

Intensjonsavtalen gjeld to skip, med opsjon på ytterlegare to skip.

Kjetil Bollestad seier at skroget på første skipet er venta til Kleven våren 2022, om alt no går etter planen.

New Build FDV DRAFT Contract

Triumph Subsea Services is pleased to announce that it has received the initial DRAFT contract from Brodosplit JSC, Croatia, for the building of Triumph’s two firm and two optional FDVs. Triumph remains committed to executing the contract with DIV Shipbuilding Group regardless of where final outfitting may occur given the recent events and media attention surrounding the Kleven Verft shipyard in Norway. The DIV Shipbuilding Group owned Brodosplit facility in Split, Croatia will build the hulls and at present also complete the outfitting. Triumph is not considering any other yards in Norway for the outfitting unless DIV Shipbuilding Group is directly involved.

Warning have been given
rd77, I am the COO of Triumph and I would like you to explain why you think signing a contract and then also announcing we have issued an LOI for a different class of vessel in a different location for a different market is 'strange'??
I can only assume that since you only have an initial of rd77 and don't actually post under a your actual name or a company and being based in Rotterdam I can only assume that you are a competitor, in either a shipyard, ship designer or contractor.. So rd77, what one of these 3 choices are you as your obviously trying to do some stirring on this site..

Excuse me!!!????

I just noticed it and thought it was a bit special. Just interested to know. I am certainly not a competitor, just a ship enthusiast and I work in the superyacht industry. Really do not appreciate this aggressive approach from you as it is totally uncalled for. You are making a LOT of assumptions here. Way too many.

Best,
Ralph

Likewise Ralph. One of our Directors is in the superyacht industry. So you are now assuming as well.

Your statement of 'The strange thing is that they also signed an LOI with Harland & Wolff almost at the same time' is simply wrong. Being interested and an enthusiast is one things, making statements in another.

Hi John (let's both stop being anonymous shall we?),

What am I assuming? I did not assume anything of your board of directors. Don't know where you get that from.
Ok so you don't like my choice of words ("strange"). Let's make it "interesting" then. There was really no intention there at all to doubt your company. Note that prior to joining the superyacht industry, I was also employed in a professional capacity as a shipbuilding market analyst for various segments for several, so like to think I am a little bit more than just an "enthusiast".

You are reading way too much into my choice of words.

I am frankly done with this discussion and I am sure you also have other things to do rather than getting wound up over the word "strange". Skipsfarts Forum is possibly the best shipbuilding forum in Europe (IMHO) and discussion is in general civil and productive. I would like to get back to that.

I honestly wish you the best with the Triumph business as European shipbuilders could sure use a shot in the arm at the moment. Would be particularly nice to see H&W rejoin the newbuild game as they have been out of it for a while.

Best,
Ralph

I'm excited to finally see a newbuilding in this segment. It's been a long time. I'm looking forward to see how NOVs remote controlled cranes will perform. Does anyone know if they will also have crane cabins for local control?

Skipsteknisk's designs are great, but I'm working on a smaller ST-design right now, and I hope that they put windows in the floor on those bridge wings. They are a little bit too wide on the older designs to comfortably see the quayside during maneuvering.

Hi Nodrott,

The cranes do not have local control cabins. Currently the vessels are going to have 3 different remote control rooms fitted on the vessel, all with a different viewing angle of the deck / cranes , more of a requirement to satisfy clients until they are happy with the remote capacity and the lack of local control cabin. Cranes are also 'over the horizon' operable..

Yes, we do have bridge wing floor windows.
