Because of the insolvency of Genting Group / Star Cruises now very urgent a buyer is needed also for the 1990 built KALYPSO (now STAR PISCES) cruise-ferry.
Was since more than 2 years for sale via shipbrokers with price going down from 100 Mio. Euro/US-Dollar (2020) to 40 Mio., then to 25 Mio. (2021) and last 17,5 Mio. .
Now "Joint Provisional Liquidators of Genting Hong Kong Limited" will sell this still very nice cruise-ferry so fast as possible to the best cash/outright offer basis for prompt delivery “as is” from Georgetown/Penang, ca. 2 car-hours north from Kuala-Lumpur-Airport in Malaysia. Interested ferry-companies need to be fast, one of 2 Genting-yards in Germany was just yesterday already sold and the first "really" Cruise-ships / Hotels / Casinos etc. too !
STAR PISCES is the 1 year younger sisterferry of DFDS PEARL OF SCANDINAVIA and it would be great to see this really nice - and still modern looking - ferry again in Northern Europe ! On the paper she is from 1990, but she was "before her time" - so in practice she is today ca. 10, 15 years younger than on the papers.
177m x 30m, 40.000 GT, Ca. 1100 lm / ca. 500 cars, if more is needed, some inside-cabins easy to throw out = more space for cars on deck 5 = more space free available for trucks on the truck-deck. The originally layout of the DFDS-sister was for 620 cars. So ca. 50-60 trucks + ca. 150-300 cars would be possible as totally loading-capacity.
Pax-certificate to choose between 2200 and ca. 1400. Actually "only" 613 cabins and suites on decks 5 to 11, many double-size double-bed-cabins (2 former cabins rebuilt into 1 big), many cabins with balcony or XXL-window also and some suites with own whirlpool. Ca. 100 more cabins is easy possible, a lot of former Viking Lines passengers-cabins inside and outside are actually used as additional crew-cabins. 3 big show-lounges with stage, so 1 of them can be rebuilt easy in a XXXL-Tax-free-shoppingcenter, 3 bars/pubs, 3 restaurants inkl. 1 XXXL Buffet, Beauty-Salon, Gym, big Disco (deck 2), Big Spa with inside pool + 2 whirlpools, 2 x sauna, VIP Lounge area (could be easy a Truck-Drivers Lounge), shopping-arcade, 3 big sun-decks including 1 with pool, rebuilt with a wintergarden-roof would be also well for northern routes, Conference-lounges.

Thinkable routes for the north-european-ferry-companies, i know, the most ferry-companies like "freight first" - but for maybe only (ca. 5 Mio. will be the offer from Alang / Aliaga) 6, 8, 10 or 12 Mio. normally every company must take this really big special-chance to buy a good used big ferry now for pocket-money:
VIKING LINE could take her "own originally ferry KALYPSO" for Stockholm-Helsinki, she is much better and more luxury than AMORELLA, then AMORELLA replace the very old and smaller ROSELLA on the Kapellskär-route. = On 2 routes a better, bigger and more modern newer ferry ! Furthermore as 2nd ship on Helsinki-Tallinn against Silja Europa is possible.
TALLINK has actually only the 1989 built ISABELLE for the route to Riga. If they want again full service with 2 cruise-ferries as before Covid-19 the Star-Pisces is the best chance now. Normally this is very urgent, because Stena`s route to Lettland has now much better and bigger ferries than before and with only 1 ship it is difficult to hold again. Many people and trucks can not wait 2 days for the next departure, but the luxury Star Pisces would for many people also against the new E-Flexer the better choice.
ECKERÖ could take her as 2nd ferry Tallinn-Helsinki which is one of the Top-3-routes in Europe, but with only 1 ship for Eckerö and Viking the most customers will choose also in future on this route Tallink with Megastar and Mystar.
POLFERRIES could directly replace the extremly old WAWEL on the Nynäshamn-Gdynia route.
Is in Oslo the ferry-berth of Stena Saga still free ? Would be a perfect chance to start Oslo-Rostock f.ex. for Fjordline or TT-Line. Why a monopol Germany-Norway for Color Line ? Also Oslo to Frederikshavn, Hirtshals or Skagen is possible for every ferry-company.
For Strömstad-Sandefjord 177m is too long - or not ? If not - a good chance for Color Line and Fjordline for a "new used" XXXL-Tax-Free-ship.
In Stockholm the Birka cruise-berth is still free ?
If DFDS wants 2 identically ferries on Oslo-Copenhagen - this is now the chance ! Then the 1994 built CROWN SEAWAYS could replace 1 ca. 7-8 years (but looking 15-20 years older) older ferry on Newcastle-Amsterdam.
In Gdansk the ferry-berth is free, so perfect for to start Gdansk-Helsinki for all ferry-companies possible, maybe also Gdansk-Oslo ? Or to Stockholm against Polferries ? Stockholm/Nynäshamn - Klaipeda is another free route. If Stockholm-Tallinn and Stockholm-Riga is going very well, the same to Klaipeda can not be a problem. The port of Hanko want to have also more ferry-lines urgent.
IRISH FERRIES could it use as XXXL-Duty-Free-Pax-ferry on Calais-Dover, then one other ferry back to Irish Sea would be possible.
P+O could it put on Liverpool-Dublin as XXXL-Duty-Free-Pax-ferry, if not interested maybe another new chance for Irish Ferries ?
IF BRITTANY would like to have 1 Pax-ferry more - they could use Star Pisces on a heavy Pax-route and transfer the other ferry then to a normal "RoPax" route. F.ex. the Brexit-Bypass-route of Brittany has much to less departures.
Other thinkable route for all: Göteborg-Kristiansand-Edingburgh. Maybe Holland-Norway-line has a little bit more money to buy Star Pisces ?
So if anybody here has contacts to leading people inside of any ferry-company, please make QUICKLY FAST a proposal to buy the STAR PISCES now that we all can soon use her again in North-Europe ! She is still today a very comfortable luxury modern looking ferry. Otherwise maybe GNV, Corsica Ferries, Corsica Linea etc. will buy her or she ends anywhere as accommodation-ship etc. - or in worst case directly in Aliaga / Alang. Because of the high number of 4-bed-cabins she is not good for to cruise 1 or 2 weeks on her, so no cruise-company will buy her - but for a duty-free-day-/1-/2-nights ferry-cruise the STAR PISCES is - for this extremly low price - a very very good deal for every ferry-company ! And really - yes, she is built 1990 - but she is today easy to compare with any ferry built ca. 2000-2005, so it will be like a ca. 17-22 years old ferry for pocket-money... .
