Well that this new ferry shall be operated very automatisated - but:

Here i do not understand why they are not start planning with any tunnel-bridge-damm constructions.
These both routes to the big Estonian Islands are growing since 1991 very very much every year - and until now all new ferries was too small or too less... .
It will be also in future much more customers there from all sides. The islanders will often travel to Tallin for biggest shopping, culture events etc. . And more and more people from Tallinn (and other parts of Estonia, but also from Latvia !) will often travel to these Islands for day-trips, weekends and holiday-stays. Already now costs tickets friday and sunday afternoon 20% extra, just because the ferries are overcrowded, overloaded year around.
So to buy every few years the next even more bigger new ferry can not be a long-term solution for these both massive growing ferry-routes.
The sea-distances are much smaller than many other undersea-tunnels f.ex. in Faroer-Islands and Norway.

I am really a "ferry-friend" - but not on short routes with many hour waiting-times in summer where a 20-min frequency is still much too less - if any bridge-tunnel-damm solution would be easy technical possible.
