USCGC Bramble (WLB-392) is one of the 39 original 180-foot (55 m) seagoing buoy tenders built between 1942 and 1944 for the United States Coast Guard. In commission from 1944 until 2003 she was saw service in Pacific, Caribbean and Atlantic waters as well as the Great Lakes. In 1947 Bramble was present at the Nuclear testing at Bikini Atoll and in 1957 a circumnavigation of North America involved a forced traverse of the Northwest Passage. After decommissioning in 2003 Bramble became a museum ship in Port Huron, Michigan. In 2018 she was sold to a private owner, who is preparing MV Bramble to repeat her historic 1957 circumnavigation of North America.

MV Cape Victory (T-AKR-9701) was built in 1984 as MV Marzario Britainna by Cant Nav. Italiani. After launching, it was delivered to CMB T. Italy for commercial operation. She was acquired. 2 April 1993, by the United States Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration and renamed MV Cape Victory on 2 April 1994 and assigned to the Maritime Administration's Ready Reserve Force, 19 August 1994. When activated Cape Victory is one of the Maritime Administration's 31 Roll-on/Roll-off Reserve Force Ships assigned to the US Navy's Military Sealift Command (MSC) Sealift Program Office. Cape Victory is nested at the National Defense Reserve Fleet in Beaumont, Texas, in ROS-5 status, with a 10-man maintenance crew on board.

MV Cape Vincent (T-AKR-9666) was built as MV Marzario Italia in 1984 at Italcantieri S.P. A., Italy. After launch, it was delivered to CMB Italy after which it was briefly renamed MV Taabo Italia. She was acquired on 13 May 1993, by the US Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration and renamed MV Cape Vincent, 1 February 1994, assigned to the Maritime Administration's Ready Reserve Force. Cape Vincent is operated by Keystone Shipping Company Inc. When activated Cape Vincent is one of the Maritime Administration's 31 Roll-on/Roll-off Reserve Force Ships assigned to the US Navy's Military Sealift Command (MSC) Sealift Program Office. Cape Vincent is nested at the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Beaumont, TX. in ROS-5 status, with a 10-man maintenance crew on board.

Litt "skipsfart" midt inne i Sør-Norge, 31. juli.
BITIHORN legger ut på sin andre tur for dagen fra Bygdin Fjellhotell til Eidsbugarden.
Båten hadde opprinnelig en dampmaskin, men "fyrer" i dag med diesel. Bygget og sjøsatt i 1912, og har siden seilt på Bygdin, Jotunheimens største innsjø.

Dampmaskin har det nok aldri vært, men den opprinnelige/originale 40 hesters Bolinder-motoren var nok ikke helt det samme som dagens Scania med 330 hester.
